New Pocket Monster TV Anime Casts Kana Hanazawa, Yūichi Nakamura

The official Twitter account for the new Pocket Monster television anime revealed two more cast members for the series on Friday. Kana Hanazawa will play Gō’s 10-year-old childhood friend Koharu, and Yūichi Nakamura will play Koharu’s father, Professor Sakuragi. He is the head of Sakuragi Lab, which was built in Kanto region’s Kuchiba City. Nakamura previously played N in Pokémon: Black and White: Rival Destinies.

The new anime will premiere on TV Tokyo and its affiliates on November 17 at 5:30 p.m. as an “expanded live broadcast special.” The series will then air on Sundays at 6:00 p.m., the same timeslot as Pokémon Sun & Moon.

The new series will feature two protagonists: Satoshi (Ash) and the new character Gō. Gō’s partner Pokémon is the starter Pokémon Hibunny (Scorbunny) from the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games. Daiki Yamashita will voice the character Gō. Gō is 10 years old, and his dream is to capture all Pokémon.

The new series will feature all of the regions covered in the franchise so far, from the Kanto to the Galar region.
