Studio Ghibli Unveils New “Chopstick Letters” To Gift To Your Loved Ones

With the coronavirus pandemic still ongoing, people have resorted to remote ways of interacting with each other. And thank goodness do we live in the Digital Age; checking up on your loved ones is just a few clicks or taps away!

That being said, there’s a certain charm that snail mail will always have, and now is a more perfect time than ever to send a handwritten message to those faraway, and maybe attach a little gift or two.

Enter Studio Ghibli’s new Ohashi no Tegami (roughly translated to Chopstick Letters): a pair of  Ghibli-themed chopsticks neatly packaged in a slim box that doubles as both a letter and envelope. They come in three themed designs which you can see below: Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service!

A neat little tutorial and overview of the product can be seen below:

Each message section inside the box even comes with a cute little illustration on the side to match the featured character!

Sending chopsticks to loved ones is a nice way to have your presence felt at every meal, even though you might not be able to physically be there in person. They’re priced at a reasonable 1,430 yen (US$13.65) each — from Donguri Kyowakoku stores and online.
