Figure Skater Keiji Tanaka Releases His JoJo Stand on the Skating Rink

Japanese figure skater Keiji Tanaka showed off his fancy footwork on the ice to the tune of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s fourth season track “Diamond Is Unbreakable” by M.Fukuda. Tanaka used the song for his World Figure Skating Championship Gala Exhibition performance in Saitama on Sunday. The Men’s rank 14 skater even dressed as character Jōsuke Higashikata for the performance.

Tanaka ranked #14 during the Men’s competition with a score of 238.40. American Nathen Chen, Japanese skater Yuzuru Hanyu, and American Vincent Zhou rounded out the top three.

Figure skaters have turned to anime for inspiration again and again. Evgenia Medvedeva was animated for her appearance at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and previously skated in Nagaoka in 2016 while dressed as Sailor Moon. Russian Olympic skater Alina Zagitova appeared in ads for the Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Gaiden smartphone game. Japan’s Yuzuru Hanyu confessed on television that he wants to be eaten by Tokyo Ghoul’s Ken Kaneki.

Multiple figure skaters endorsed Yuri!!! on Ice, including Medvedeva, Evgeni Plushenko, Masato Kimura and Johnny Weir.
