#1 Eva Fan Will Get to See New Evangelion Film Before June 2020 Premiere

A contest announced on the NERV Purchasing Department 4th BS Branch program on BSTV on September 12 will let Japan’s biggest Evangelion fan see the Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 (Shin Evangelion Gekijō-ban :||) film before it premieres in theaters on June 2020.

Fans can enter the “Eva Love No. 1 Championship: Me and Evangelion” contest by submitting their fandom “resume” that chronicles their history with Hideaki Anno’s television anime, films, and spinoffs. The biggest Evangelion fan will be selected from the resume applicants. As an example, NERV Purchasing Department 4th BS Branch host Sakura-Saki Inagaki filled out an application.

Contestants can submit applications until November 17.

Toei screened the first 10 minutes of Studio Khara’s Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 at the Japan Expo event in Paris, Anime Expo in Los Angeles and in Shanghai, as well as in various places inside Japan, on July 6.

The first three films in the tetralogy, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance, and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, debuted in 2007, 2009, and 2012 respectively.

And if you’re interested in getting into the series, Netflix has begun streaming the original Neon Genesis Evangelion television anime series as well as the Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth and Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion films in June. It’s not too late to catch up on one of the most anime series of all time.
