Pokémon Franchise Gets New Anime Series Titled “Pocket Monster”

The official YouTube channel for the Pokémon franchise announced on Sunday that the franchise is getting a new television anime series titled Pocket Monster. The title is the same title as the original 1997 Pokémon television anime series when it first aired.

The new series will feature all of the regions covered in the franchise so far, from the Kanto to the new Galar region from the upcoming Sword and Shield Versions. The episode of Pokémon Sun & Moon that will air on September 29 will reveal more information about the new show.

The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime series premiered on TV Tokyo and its affiliated stations in Japan in November 2016.

The show, under the title Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon, premiered in the United States on Disney XD in May 2017. Although the show is known under just one title in Japan, its U.S. airings have several titles. Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon—Ultra Adventures premiered on Disney XD in March 2018, and Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon—Ultra Legends premiered on Disney XD on March 23.
