Studio Ghibli fans, get your wallet ready.
The musical mastermind behind the scores of numerous Ghibli films, Joe Hisashi, will be making his way to Singapore for the first time on February 21 and 22, 2020.
The composer and musical director are best known for his Studio Ghibli scores which include music for films such as Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.
Hisashi will be leading the Singapore Symphony Orchestra at the Esplanade Concert Hall for two nights in February 2020, and will perform three beloved compositions: The East Land Symphony, Woman for piano and strings: Woman, Ponyo, and Les Aventuriers, and Spirited Away Suite.
The concert will start at 7.30pm each night and will last for approximately two hours.
Tickets are now available on sale at Sistic, with prices ranging from S$98 to S$398. SSO Friends Season Pass holders will be entitled to the priority sale which ends on September 20, 2019, while ticket sales for the rest of the public will begin on September 21, 2019, at 9am.
With this and the Studio Ghibli theme park in 2022, it seems there are many things for Ghibli fans to look forward to these next few years.
