Fan-Made Chrome Extension Restores Iconic ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ Evangelion Ending Theme

Were you among those disappointed that “Fly Me To The Moon” is not available on Netflix’s release of Neon Genesis Evangelion outside Japan? A fan-made Chrome Extension released by Kevin Martin allows users to experience the ED theme after each episode, the way the series was originally released. Download it here.

A video posted on the extension’s page on the Chrome web store shows how it works: As the episode ends, the the ED theme starts playing, and users will have the option to either skip the credits sequence or watch it in full. In other words, it works exactly how it does if you’re watching the show in Japan. (Note that some users have reported that they needed to reload their browser and/or reinstall the extension in order to get it to work as advertised.)

The Neon Genesis Evangelion TV series and Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth and Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion films launched on Netflix on Friday. The classic 1995 robot anime series has been out of print in North America since ADV Films shut down in 2009.
