Life as a hero of destiny starts young. New parents will want to make sure their adventurers in the making have the property equipment in their inventory before sending them into the great unknown. That’s why Square Enix has launched its Dragon Quest baby and kids line and it is cute.
The line is offering themed bibs, hats, and baby books centered around the game franchise’s iconic characters, from the Slime monster (shown above) to the protagonist Roto/Erdrick. The latter comes in a set that includes a hero armor bib, hat, a rattle sword and shield, a memorial book with Dragon Quest themeing, stationary to write a letter to your baby and present to them on their 16th birthday, stickers, a picture book, and a treasure chest to keep it all in. I, for one, would tell my kid where my hidden weapon stash is in the event monsters get me before then.
The treasure chest retails for 14,806 yen yen (US$140).
The latest game in the series, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 27. The Dragon Quest: Your Story CG anime film opened in theaters in Japan on August 2.
